When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee...........
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large andempty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areasbetween the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar wasfull. They agreed that it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you torecognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are theimportant things--God, your family, your children, your health, yourfriends and your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else--the small stuff."
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness."

Thanks - for being there for me
You reflect on your life when you are struck with some incidence in other peoples lives. Is that how we should value things?
I know a family which can hardly be called a family now. I would rather call them a bunch of people who have made compromises to travel together in the same boat..... but dont know how long will that happen. Incompalibilty within the parents makes the children underconfident and lonely. Abhay's parents seperated and the kids came under the fathers custody. Today he lives with another married women. Abhay and his brother have always stayed in hostels because the parents neither had time for each other or the kids. Wathcing Abhay's frail frame, his inabilty to be a happy, his best company - books, i wish someone could be there for him to talk and share and make him feel loved.
I never realized how much it means to have both your parents there for you. Thank you mom & dad for all that you have given me.

You gave me the light
So I could find my way
You showed me the way
So I could leave a trail
You lend me your hand
So I would never be alone
You passed me your confidence
So I could face the world
You gave me your life
So I could make my own

True Love - is it sharing or giving ?
It is human tendency to share whatever we have, be it love, grief, money or laughter. Everybody needs a someone special who says 'i love you , today and when i am away'. And at times it is left unspoken....
You might have read this before, but this is a story that makes one feel love is not about sharing all the time, its about Giving.... True love never dies - its rare and eternal.
A girl and guy were speeding over 100 mph on the road on a motorcycle...
Girl: Slow down. I m scared.
Guy: No this is fun.
Girl: No its not. Please, its too scary!
Guy: Then tell me you love me.
Girl: Fine, I love you. Slow down!
Guy: Now give me a BIG hug.
Girl hugs him
Guy: Can you take my helmet off & put it on yourself.. Its bugging me.
In the paper the next day :
A motorcycle had crashed into a building because of brake failure. Two people were on it, but only one had survived. The truth was that halfway down the road, the guy realized that his brakes broke, but he didn't want to let the girl know.
Instead, he had her say she loved him & felt her hug him one last time, then had her wear his helmet so that she would live even though it meant that he would die.
Your thrill can be the end of the world for someone
For over 20 years Harjan's parents had set their practice in the city and now have a huge hospital serving the people of Ghaziabad. Dr Behal and my parents have known each other since we moved into the city. Though we met only at times of sickness and ill-health in my home, we kept updated about each others lives.
My sister's school mate, Harjan Behal, elder son of Dr Behal, had just completed his MBA from Symbiosys pune. He was a perfect combination of brawn and brains. He came home to celebrate his new job and this post-graduate degree. Harjan had hardly spent any time at home when he insisted to go to chandigarh with friends for 2 days and the happy parents could not say no.
Harjan, his brother Shashank, and two more of his friends were off to the beautiful city. Never in his life he felt so free and elated. They went all over the place drinking and driving all night, when suddenly the driver ,Harjan, lost control and the car banged into a round-about. Harjan and his two friends died on the spot and Shashank broke every bone in his body.
Parents were informed, but the helpless doctors could do nothing to save their kids lives. Today Shashank is still on bed and will not be able to live his life normal because this one incident that happened to him. Dr Behal and his family is totally shattered and their hospital has lost its charm.
A mistake on the drivers part lead to loss of 4 young kids and left a lifetime of misery for three families. This is a true incident but is not an unusual one. A moment of thrill is all that is needed to feel on the top of the world but do the drunk drivers realize how much they suffering they leave behind to their family.......

Men and Women - poles apart
Well there is always a first time and quiet often every time is a first time. .....and finally my first post on my blog. After all the sweating (shopping under the sun) in the day, I manage to get my hands on the keyboard.Differences between men and women never dissolve , its like a river overflowing after every rain. Here are a few of them i picked up while browsing a site.
Relationships: When a relationship ends, a woman will cry and pour her heart out to her girlfriends, and she will write a poem titled "All Men Are Idiots". Then she will get on with her life. A man has a little more trouble letting go. Six months after the break-up, at 3:00 a.m. on a Saturday night, he will call and say, "I just wanted to let you know you ruined my life, and I'll never forgive you, and I hate you, and you're a total floozy. But I want you to know that there's always a chance for us." This is known as the "I Hate You / I Love You" drunken phone call, that 99% of all men have made at least once. There are community colleges that offer courses to help men get over this need.
Maturity: Women mature much faster than men. Most 17-year old females can function as adults. Most 17-year old males are still trading baseball cards and giving each other wedgies after gym class. This is why high school romances rarely work out.
Magazines: Men's magazines often feature pictures of naked women. Women's magazines also feature pictures of naked women. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is lumpy and hairy and should not be seen by the light of day. Men are turned on at the sight of a naked woman's body. Most naked men elicit laughter from women.
Groceries: A woman makes a list of things she needs and then goes out to the store and buys these things. A man waits till the only items left in his fridge are half a lime and a beer. Then he goes grocery shopping. He buys everything that looks good. By the time a man reaches the checkout counter, his cart is packed tighter than the Clampett's car on Beverly Hillbillies. Of course, this will not stop him from going to the 10-items-or-less lane.
Offspring: Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favorite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.
Dressing up: A woman will dress up to: go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, get the mail. A man will dress up for: weddings and photo sessions.
